Oooh, an old Ford Cargo! You still have them? Ford pulled out of trucks in Europe in the 1990s and now make nothing bigger than a Transit.

We do, but they're rare. I've seen them rocking the Coke and U.S. Postal Service liveries and that's it.

BAH! that's nothing!!!

But in all seriousness has any other north-easterners, more to the point upstate new yorkers noticed the trend that in the past 4 or 3 years all the big storm we'd normally get seem to be shifting further and further east? Not that I am complaining and lord knows we are far from being in the clear on our big storms. It's just since like '09 it seems ny and boston and the rest of the coast has been getting whacked by bigger and bigger snow storms. while we on the interior just seems to be getting colder and slightly less snow? This is just my observation, also I know the big stuff usually whacks us late next month or in march. but still just saying.. seems the east coast is taking more big hits than us in recent years and seems to be a trend.

Do you keep a car in the city?

Yes they do! Well, not the old Cargo, but equally huge behemoths.

GM and FCA only have Chassis Cabs now so Ford is the only domestic brand still building heavy duty commercial trucks.

I am looking at moving to the city, but I have four cars and I must keep at least one.

I'm not even sure if that's possible.

It gets worse... The International CXT! Take a truck normally used for hauling commercial loads or school children, then slap a bed on the back and passenger car/pickup truck plates. Genius!

It definitely is, provided can afford a garage spot somewhere (doesn't have to be anywhere near your apartment if you live near a subway stop). I also know a guy who lives in Brooklyn who has figured out the streets where you only have to move your car once a week for street cleaning and just parks in a random spot all the time. I think he sets an iPhone reminder as to where he parked. But he also drives a Prius so it's fairly anonymous - crime may be down around here, but if I had a cool car I'd feel a little weird leaving it on a random street for 6 days. There's a lot of street parking in that borough though.

You can rent a garage way out in Brooklyn for cheap. It would be a hike, but it would be available.

It's possible, it's just a pain. You have to move it for street cleaning, and it will get bumped because people like my Dad's family who back up until they can't drive. Most cars get broken into eventually as well. If you have a nice or easy to break into car, and want to keep it nice and not get robbed, you're going to want to rent a garage. The city's not really nice to cars, but you won't use it much. It's only needed really to get in and out of the city, to carry shit, or to get around if you live in Staten Island or certain parts of Brooklyn and Queens, but those areas are basically Long Island, so you're probably not looking there.
